We've faced the pain ourselves
Garnet was born from hard lessons. At their previous AI infrastructure startup, Umar and Farrukh faced every founder's nightmare: a cryptominer infiltrated production through a compromised Python dependency--inside a customer's environment.
Despite layers of vulnerability scanners and static analysis tools, the attack went unnoticed—outbound traffic quietly tunneling to a mining pool. It took weeks to unravel what happened and recover from the damage.
That experience made one thing clear: security needs to go beyond just "seeing" what code is, and knowing what it actually does when it runs. A new primivive of visibility, control and trust for software that enables teams to ship faster with peace of mind, reliably and contain the cost and impact of incidents early.
What is our vision?
Our engineering roster brings unmatched expertise in eBPF and observability infrastructure. As previous leads and maintainers of Tracee, Tetragon, and Fluent Bit—with experience building and scaling critical systems at Red Hat, Canonical, Chronosphere, IBM and Isovalent—we've done this before, and know what it takes.
